Miriam Straus ‘08 was one of several of students who experienced a unique science internship facilitated through the Ramaz Science Research Program. Mentored by Dr. Terri Aharon of the science department, Miriam was able to spend her summer doing research in neuroscience and visual pathways. Thirteen students spent Shavuot in Belarus this past spring. They celebrated Yom Tov with youngsters, teenagers and the elderly in the barren cities of Minsk and Pinsk. Our students were shining lights in those dark cities. They inspired everyone they met and in turn realized the power they have to share the beauty of Judaism.
